The department of training known as Training and Leadership Development is situated at the premises of the United Theological College, Bangalore, was established in 1930 to impart training to YMCA Professionals. The Training Department conducts one-year training for YMCA Professional Secretaries focussing on Christian teachings, stimulating contemporary thinking, ongoing relationship and mission role of the Church and YMCA beside the trainees undergo a series of YMCA studies, management studies, physical education, surveys, research/dissertation etc. The YMCA Training Department conducts refresher course/workshops for YMCA professional secretaries under the innovative Continuing Education programme of the Training Department. The purpose of the Continuing Education programme is to update and challenge the YMCA Secretaries on the need for taking forward and effectively putting in practice the Mission of the YMCA in emerging new realities.
